The Intermediate CDJs & Rekordbox course builds on foundational DJ skills with a deeper focus on performance strategy, advanced phrasing, and live remixing techniques. Students explore the critical roles DJs play in various set positions and enhance their creative control through looping, cue jumping, FX layering, and acapella blending. By the end of the course, students perform a polished mini-set and walk away with enhanced technical skills and stage readiness.

    • Apply bar structures, loops, and hot cues for dynamic mixing.
  • Creative Looping & Cue Jumps
    • Use live looping, phrase jumps, and multi-deck layering for live remixing.
  • FX Mastery
    • Layer and time FX to create tension, release, and atmosphere.
  • Acapella Blending
    • Combine vocals with instrumentals for mashups and live blends.
  • Live Performance
    • Build and perform a 15-minute set that applies advanced DJ techniques.
  • Plan and prepare sets that match different performance roles and time slots.
  • Identify phrasing structures and align transitions for seamless flow.
  • Use loops and cue points to create builds, breakdowns, and extended drops.
  • Develop live remixing skills through cue jumping, looping, and FX layering.
  • Blend acapellas and instrumentals in real time with harmonic and rhythmic awareness.
  • Perform a polished 15-minute live DJ set and respond to structured feedback.
