Marko Djordjevic

Marko Djordjevic is a world-renowned drummer, composer, and educator with a career that spans over three decades and includes more than 40 album credits and thousands of live performances across the globe. A native of Serbia, Marko began his formal training at Kornelije Stankovic Music High School before graduating with honors from Berklee College of Music in 1993. Since then, he has built a reputation as a drummer of exceptional technical command and expressive depth.

Acclaimed by peers and press alike, Modern Drummer magazine hails him as “a world-class drummer” and “a true innovator,” while guitarist Lionel Loueke (Herbie Hancock) praises his unique voice and creativity behind the kit. Author Cicily Janus notes in her book The New Face of Jazz that “Marko's name is quickly becoming synonymous with greatness.”

Marko has performed and/or recorded with an impressive list of artists, including Matt Garrison, Wayne Krantz, Bill Frisell, Jonah Smith, Clarence Spady, Michael Henderson, Garry Willis, Dave Binney, Hal Crook, Eli Degibri, Aaron Goldberg, Lionel Loueke, and The Itals, among many others. His acclaimed band Marko Djordjevic & Sveti showcases his skills not just as a performer but as a composer and bandleader, earning praise from AllAboutJazz for its “absolutely monster musicians.”

As an educator, Marko has been a featured artist at top international drum festivals such as Montreal Drumfest, London Drum Show, PASIC, and La Rioja Drum Fest, and he has been a fixture in music education since 2005, serving on the faculty at The Drummer's Collective in NYC and as a Professor at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He is also the author of the acclaimed instructional materials Where I Come From (DVD) and The New Frontier for Drumset (book), both published by Alfred Publishing.
