John Dorney

John Dorney is a Brooklyn-based guitarist, bassist, songwriter, and producer with a wide-ranging performance background across indie, Americana, pop, and rock. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, John performs nationally and records both as a band member and as a solo artist, recently releasing his debut EP in April.
John has toured and recorded with Orlando-based artist Cat Ridgeway, performing on major stages including 30A Songwriters Festival, Okeechobee Music Festival, and House of Blues, sharing bills with artists such as Arcade Fire, Leon Bridges, and Brandi Carlile. He is a core collaborator in several original projects including his own self-titled project John Dorney, the Megan Shea project, where he contributes heavily to songwriting, production, and live performance, and the new band Rowdey, featuring members working with Cole Swindell, Under Oath, and Steelin’ Peaches. His studio and live work spans EP recording sessions, demo production, sold-out release shows, and professional live video sessions.
As an educator, John brings over three years of teaching experience, including his tenure at School of Rock Orlando and a dedicated roster of private students. He focuses on building strong musical foundations, creative confidence, and an encouraging environment tailored to each student’s goals, whether they’re learning their first chords or developing advanced guitar technique.
