Christian Tamblay

Cristián Tamblay is a Chilean drummer, composer, and producer who started playing at age three, moving from rock and pop into jazz through a school big band, with Chick Corea becoming an early and lasting influence.

He moved to the United States to study at Berklee College of Music, and has since performed and recorded across the East Coast with a wide range of artists. His discography includes a debut album, the single "Revolutions" featuring Derek Sherinian, and "Sergio," a jazz ballad written for his grandfather.

He is perhaps best known for a project that sits outside the usual drummer lane: composing and performing drum set arrangements over contemporary classical works, including Bartók and Shostakovich string quartets, an approach he has taken both online with the Carducci String Quartet and live with his own ensemble.
