Meet the Instructor
Jason Gianni
Drummer/ author Jason Gianni is a full time instructor at the prestigious Drummers Collective in New York City as well as an adjunct professor at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He holds a Master of Music degree from Pennsylvania State University as well as a Bachelor of Music degree & a Minor in Jazz Studies from the University of Delaware both in Percussion Performance. Jason is also the co-author of the well-known book, The Drummer’s Bible, a guide to popular drum styles which offers approximately 400 musical examples in standard drum notation.
Jason is a proud Drummers Collective alumni and studied with many great teachers who were both affiliated with The Collective as well as the NYC music scene. Notable players such as Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez, Clayton Cameron, Mike Clark, Pete Zeldman, Frank Katz and Kim Plainfield were among the names who have been a big influence to Jason’s style and background.
