Brown Jewel

Brown Jewel is a Minneapolis born, New York based educator, beatmaker, and music producer whose work spans hip hop, R&B, and contemporary media composition. Known for her vibrant blend of soulful melodies, striking samples, and hard-hitting drums, she creates music for ads, films, series, and podcasts while cultivating a distinct production identity rooted in storytelling and rhythm. Her artistry and teaching practice extend globally, shaped by a commitment to community, collaboration, and the growth of emerging producers.

Internationally recognized for her work, Brown Jewel was selected for the U.S. Department of State’s Hip Hop Diplomacy residency at the Berklee School of Music in Abu Dhabi, where she led workshops in beatmaking, entrepreneurship, and conflict transformation. She has performed at Expo Dubai 2020, taught beatmaking sessions for schools and for Serato, and contributed to a Serato Studio sound pack in collaboration with Gender Amplified, showcasing her sound design alongside other women and non-binary producers. As Serato’s resident producer on their Twitch series, Serato Kitchen, she uplifts artists around the world by featuring their tracks, offering feedback, and building an inclusive creative space. At Sound Collective, Brown Jewel draws from her educational background from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities and her experience teaching since May 2024 to mentor students in production, beatmaking, and artistic development with a focus on exploration, empowerment, and professional craft.
