Collective BPM (Powered by Acid Mama)
Thursday, August 3rd, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
You’re invited to attend the first event in our Collective BPM series powered by the Brooklyn-based party Acid Mama. At Collective BPM events, Acid Mama will curate 3 DJ sets to showcase NYC talent. Listen in person at Sound Collective in a casual hang atmosphere or tune in to the live stream remotely. This event is free, so make sure to RSVP to attend in person or get the live stream link.
About the DJs:
Acid Mama is a Brooklyn-based party anchored by resident DJs Marsweather and Dio Garcia. With a deep understanding of the power of music, Acid Mama effortlessly weaves together a diverse array of genres and styles, drawing inspiration from the psychedelic roots that gave birth to their name. With a focused mission of unleashing body activating grooves, their sets are a masterclass in selecting tracks that infuse the body with energy and take dancers on an exhilarating journey. The result is an atmosphere that is both euphoric and transformative, leaving partygoers fully immersed in the music and lost in the moment.
Barbie miss Q. is a fresh Miami/Buffalo transplant who’s ready to bring a playground of sound, infusing head boppin’ breaks with some groovy basslines that pay homage to pioneers of hiphop/RnB, miami bass, & electro.
rmzi and DJ BLINGG are open-format DJs from Memphis, TN, focused on moving dance floors with a mix of House, Ghettotech, Footwork and sharing the sounds of Memphis Rap and Soul. Highlighting Black music traditions, especially in electronic music, is at the forefront of their mission: to excite and educate communities that build space around Music. Most recently, they played at Fourth World Festival in Queens, NY at Knockdown Center and have a monthly residency at Jupiter Disco. They are also co-owners of Memphis / NY label `bodywerk` and are imminently releasing a new compilation album dubbed “The Werks”.
