DJ Perly
DJ Perly is a Bronx-born Puerto Rican DJ, producer, and turntablist who has become one of the most groundbreaking figures in the battle DJ world. She made history in 2017 as the first woman to win the DMC US Finals, and again in 2022 as the first woman to earn two DMC USA National titles. A seven-time DMC World Finalist, she placed 4th globally in both 2017 and 2024, the highest ranking ever achieved by a woman. Her achievements also include two DMC NYC Regional Championships, nominations for the Global Spin Award for Turntablist of the Year, and recognition from DJane Mag as Best Scratch DJ. Perly is an artist ambassador for Serato, Rane, and Numark, a proud member of the Heavy Hitters DJ Crew, and has been celebrated by Grandmaster Caz and Melle Mel as the “Undisputed Queen of the 1’s and 2’s.”
At Sound Collective, Perly brings her deep battle experience, signature precision, and creative approach to turntablism into the classroom. She teaches students how to develop control, musicality, and style while helping them understand the mindset behind competitive-level technique. Her focus is on building confidence, sharpening skills, and nurturing individuality so students can push past their limits and find their own voice on the decks.
