Sound Collective is absolutely thrilled to host the 2nd annual DJ Battle event “COLD CUTS”. We are looking for sponsors for the main event who are willing to participate by way of donation for our grand prize.

In our space we are bringing the scratching community together for the ultimate DJ battle along with a series of community building meetups, hosted by our guest judges DJ Perly, DJ Spictakular and our third surprise judge.

Our 3rd judge will remain a mystery until our 3rd meetup announcement, where we will also announce the sponsors and the grand prize. The main event will be MC’d by NYC legend in the community DP ONE.

DJ Perly is a Bronx born Puerto Rican Russian American DJ and the first woman to win TWICE the US Finals of the DMC annual DJ battle in 2017 and in 2022. Perly is also a 4X DMC World DJ Battle world Finalist, a stunning accomplishment from a woman DJ in a heavily male dominated field.

Round 1

Everyone gets 1 round at 1min 30sec of battle time for a routine. We select top 4.

Round 2

The 4 contestants still in the game get two 1min 30sec takes each to run their routine (head to head). We select top 2

Round 3, Final Round

The 2 last contestants get 2 rounds at 1min 30sec each to run their routine (head to head). Winner is selected.

Tie Breaker One: 1 round at 1min freestyle BEAT JUGGLING (if needed)

Tie Breaker Two: 1 round at 1min freestyle SCRATCHING (if needed)
