Meet the Instructor
Alexander Wren
Alexander Wren is a Midwestern-born songwriter and artist dedicated to resurrecting the classic American song. Rooted in the lineage passed down from his father, “songs written for the commoner by the commoner” he spent nearly a decade honing his craft in Nashville before building a global following. His work has been featured by major DSPs, praised by outlets like American Songwriter, and streamed millions of times worldwide. His songs have been cut by major labels and publishers, synced by brands such as Adobe, and even performed on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. He has toured nationally and collaborated with Grammy-winning artists.
In an era driven by trends and instant gratification, Alexander searches for something more enduring. “Many artists can out-sing me or outplay me, but when you strip away the smoke and mirrors, you’re left with the song. That is my specialty.” His 2023 debut LP, To Whom It May Concern, pulls from over 600 original compositions, resulting in a sound both timeless and eerily nostalgic. When he’s not wandering the city or reading the Times at his local diner, Alexander teaches the craft of songwriting and continues work on his sophomore album, with the singles “The Fountain” and “The Hum” arriving soon.
