Kenny Gil

Kenny Gil is a Brooklyn-based music producer, audio engineer, DJ, and guitarist whose career bridges the worlds of live band performance and electronic music. Before diving into electronic production, he owned and operated a recording studio in Tampa, Florida, where he produced and engineered records for over 100 bands in genres ranging from rock, metal, and hardcore to pop-punk and indie. As a guitarist, Kenny has toured internationally, gaining invaluable firsthand experience in performing and collaborating across vibrant, diverse music scenes. Today, Kenny channels his creativity through his solo project, KC Gilmore, and as one half of the duo REIGN, with releases on acclaimed labels like Nervous Records and Farris Wheel Recordings. Extending beyond his own work, he has mixed and mastered records for artists featured on Realm Records, Solotoko, Glasgow Underground, and EMI. Additionally, Kenny co-founded and develops for Stairway Audio, a music technology company dedicated to crafting intuitive and affordable virtual instruments and plugins that make professional-grade sound design available to all.

At Sound Collective, Kenny leverages more than a decade of expertise with industry-standard DAWs like Ableton Live and Logic Pro to deliver hands-on, professional workflows to students. His teaching philosophy balances creativity with technical precision, walking learners through the entire journey from initial concept to a polished, release-ready mix. Drawing from his rich background in live performance, electronic production, and engineering, Kenny aims to empower the next generation of artists with the skills, tools, and confidence to thrive in today’s music industry.
